Description:
Family caregiving can be a grueling responsibility, and it often seems there is never enough help. One community organization in Michigan set out to make a dent and launched a free caregiver coaching program to support the family caregivers in its community. The Caregiver Coaching program is a nationally recognized program that matches volunteer ‘coaches’ with caregivers for personalized, one-on-one, virtual support provided by phone. Hear from AAA1-B about how they launched and managed the program, the results for caregivers, and their biggest challenges and lessons learned.
Topics Discussed:
- Structuring a caregiving coaching program that's virtual
- Selecting and training volunteers as 'coaches'
- Making the right coaching match
- Using technology to simplify data collection
